"One of the most promising comedians to have ever gone nowhere. Honestly one of the brightest comedians in SA." -Lehmo (SAFM/ Channel 10's Before the Game)
Mark likes to be stupid. This is why he got into comedy. His physical, colorful style has seen him earn roles in many film and TV roles including ABCTV's "Being Me." Absurd, original and playful, Marks comedy will put you in the mood to tap dance.
Mark began his comedy career while completing his Bachelor of Creative Arts at Flinders University. Majoring in Screen Studies and Drama, Mark wrote and directed a number of short films including the 2001 Artery award winning 'Pad Thai.' After graduating in 2003 Mark went straight into a number of acting and performing projects including the Australian drama 'Peaches' starring Hugo Weaving and two youth health series for the ABC, "Like It Is" and "Being Me."
During this time Mark continued to develop a reputation for edgy and offbeat comedy in venues such as PJ Obriens, The Rhino Room and Comix Comedy Cellar where he was also known for his show stealing character 'Fritz' the waiter.
Since Mark has continued to work regularly in childrens entertainment, most recently with world renowned ventriloquist Lindi Jane Hunter and in 2004 did a short but very successful stint in the comedy clubs of New York City.
"Out of all the people who knock on my door Mark is the only kid I wont throw rocks at. Seriously one of SA's finest rising comedians." -Justin Hamilton. www.marktrenwith.com
