WHO IS ADELAIDE COMEDY?

Originally formed by Justin Hamilton (JJJ, The Glasshouse, Rove Live.) and Lehmo (Triple M’s Wil and Lehmo & Before the Game.) in 2000, Adelaide Comedy has now been running stand up comedy nights for 9 years.

Tuesdays at Arkabar (150 Glen Osmond Rd Fullarton) The Next Generation of Adelaide Comedy Gig! Show starts at 8pm. $12 Entry.  These Shows will be showcases of the best of the best comics in Adelaide on any night!  Fill your Tuesday's with Arkaba HA HA!

Wednesdays At The Marion Hotel (849 Marion Road Mitchell Park) Adelaide Comedy hits the Southern Suburbs. Tell everyone you know down south to sign up at www.adelaidecomedy.com   Flinders Uni Students, Surfers, Noarlungans etc.

Thursdays at Rhino Room (13 Frome St City) Is where you can catch new comics trying to establish themselves and established comics trying some new material.  Local?  Yeah We're Local! 

Fridays at Rhino Room (13 Frome St City) Catch a showcase of the best comedians, doing everything from regular Stand Up Comedy, Fringe Show Friday's, to Themed Shows, Improvised Comedy, The Great Debate and even a Karaoke Comedy night.  Not to mention Live Music and DJ's after every show!

We have over 100 talented local comics a large number of which have made television appearances on The Comedy Channel’s “Stand Up Australia.” and Raw Comedy on ABC TV and Ch 10.  Successful Adelaide exports such as Lehmo (MMM), Justin Hamilton (The Advertiser Award for Best Act 2008 Fringe) Dave Williams (Writer for Stand up Australia) and Mickey D (Best act of 2007 Adelaide Fringe) also frequently come home and visit the gigs as it is Adelaide Comedy that gave them their start while they were starting Adelaide Comedy.

We are a huge part of the Adelaide Fringe every year with over 16 shows playing at the Rhino Room. During the Fringe we run an advertising campaign “Comedy Doesn’t Finish When The Fringe Does!” This is to let people know that we are here every week promoting local comedy and comedians whilst giving work to some of the best comics and up and coming comics around the country.

Adelaide Comedy supports the community’s youth by holding the South Australian leg of Raw Comedy, which is a national competition for new comedians. This competition is run by the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and sponsored by Triple J.  Adelaide is proud to have produced four national winners since the competition started in 1998.  We also provide the SA leg of the Green Faces competition in Canberra where we take the next generation of SA comics to compete with other new comedians from around the country. 

Our logo features a map of South Australia on his belly because we are proud to be South Australian and intend on bringing the best local, national and international comedy to all South Australians for many years to come.  We have long term plans to be here in Adelaide and it is our sincere hope that our logo and our brand of shows will live long beyond ourselves and become a South Australian institution. We believe in South Australia as an entertainment and tourist destination and as a producer of brilliant comedic acts of all shapes and sizes.  

Adelaide Comedy, it’s comedians and venues has bared the entire of the cost of running the scene over the last 9 years.

Adelaide Comedy Has Been Running for almost 9 years since the turn of the Millenium.
The People In The Hall Of Fame Are Recognised for their hard work in createing the scene into what it is today.
It also Recognises High Profile Comedians That Have Continued To Come back to Adelaide and support the scene.
