Maggie originally comes from Glasgow Scotland, and despite living in South Australia since 1999, she can’t get rid of the accent.
She’s been treading the comedy boards since 2001, a natural progression from her beginnings in theatre. Since she began her standup career she’s co-written and co-produced an award winning comedy show – Titters! – for the 2007 Adelaide Fringe, and also an award-nominated show in the 2011 Adelaide Fringe, Three Stuffed Mums.
She’s appeared in comedy dramas Pricks and Chalkies in the 2006 and 2008 Adelaide Fringes respectively, and has ventured further afield for gigs at the Edinburgh Fringe, Glasgow, and Melbourne.
Her musical and theatrical experience includes the roles of Ethel in Footloose, the Musical, Violet in Steaming and Sylvia in All Shook Up. Her weirdest role was that of Roderigo in Shakespeare’s The Tempest, playing the baddie while five months pregnant and wearing a large silver frock.
As well as being a comic she’s a professional writer, editor, PR, reviewer, actor, singer, songwriter, wife, mum, and migrant.
She also has a short attention span.
