Craig Egan is turning 50 and a few of his old school fav comedians are coming home to celebrate… so naturally, we’re putting on a show. It’s our first Adelaide Comedy Showcase back after the Adelaide Fringe, and what better way to kick things off than celebrating the 50th Birthday of a man who’s been watching, promoting and championing live stand-up in Adelaide since 1997.

Craig has invited some old school comedy friends to perform some of his all-time favourite material. Lineup announced closer to the show.

Jimmy Carr – Laughs Funny

Apr 17, 2026
- Apr 17, 2026
8:00 pm
Adelaide Entertainment Centre

If you like fast-paced, edgy one-liners then get ready to be happy.  Jimmy Carr is going back on tour with his brand-new show ‘Jimmy Carr: Laughs Funny’.

Jimmy tells jokes, and jokes are like magnets.

Jokes attract people, but they can also repel.

Some people are repelled by Jimmy’s dark brand of comedy.  This show is not for them.

But if it’s the kind of thing you like, then this is the kind of thing you’ll like.

Hurry, this will definitely sell out!

“A comedy hero for our times” The Guardian

“Jimmy Carr is a world-class comedian” The Independent

Connor Burns – GALLUS

Apr 23, 2026
- Apr 23, 2026
7:00 pm
Rhino Room
Don’t miss the all-new show from Scotland’s hilarious global break-through stand-up star at the home of Adelaide Comedy, Rhino Room!

GALLUS is Connor Burn’s fourth solo hour. A prolific joke writer who’s lightning fast, razor- sharp wit combines with his signature single malt Scottish-level cynicism to help create the perfect storm of brilliant jokes performed by a disarming comedy powerhouse and, now more recently, has seen Connor become a social media star.

Connor’s previous smash-hit show “1994” sold 10,000+ tickets in Edinburgh, sold out 2 solo Glasgow King’s Theatre dates and toured worldwide (including 50+ UK shows, 35+ in Australia, 15 shows across Europe and included an off-Broadway run as part of 2024’s New York Comedy Festival). Winner of the prestigious international Fringe Encore Series in both 2025 and 2024, Connor has supported Daniel Sloss in 3 continents and filmed his debut special “Vertigo”, for world-wide release on the prestigious 800LB Gorilla comedy label.

‘Burns has arrived… An authentic Scottish voice. And a gallus one at that’ ★★★★ (Entertainment-Now.com)

‘Hugely gifted’ (BeyondtheJoke.com).

‘Brilliant… gags coming at you at a terrifying rate… Superb!’ ★★★★ (List).

‘Hilarious… he is fearless and it is wonderful!’ ★★★★★ (Scotsman).

Strong language, adult themes.

Alfred Adriaan – Positive Strokes

Apr 28, 2026
- Apr 28, 2026
7:00 pm
Rhino Room
This South African comedy sensation is returning to Australia to tickle your funny bone with his unique take on life.

This South African comedy sensation, known for selling out shows across Mzansi and beyond, is returning to Australia to tickle your funny bone with his unique take on life.

In “Positive Strokes,” Alfred dives headfirst into the wonderful, bewildering world of fatherhood, contrasting his own parenting style with the hilarious differences he observed from his own folks. He’ll take you on a nostalgic trip down memory lane, exploring his childhood and the wild dynamics of growing up with his family, cousins, and siblings.

You’ve heard the buzz! Critics have raved about Alfred’s “unapologetically hilarious” (IOL) performances and “sharp wit” (The Citizen). He’s been praised for his “relatable comedy that hits home” (Cape Town Magazine), proving why he’s a comedic force to be reckoned with.

Tom Sainsbury – Lessons Not Learnt

Apr 29, 2026
- Apr 29, 2026
6:30 pm
Rhino Room

After a sell-out 2024 tour (and several life wisedoms still not absorbed), comedy chameleon Tom Sainsbury is back with his brand-new show!

After a sell-out 2024 Australian tour (and several life wisedoms still not absorbed), comedy chameleon Tom Sainsbury is back with his brand-new live show Lessons Not Learnt.

You’ll know Tom from New Zealand Taskmaster, Wellington Paranormal and his weirdly accurate social-media sketches – the ones that make you go, “Oh no… that’s me.” Whether he’s being a nosy neighbour, an overbearing boss or one of his iconic 80s mums, Tom dives headfirst into the gloriously awkward bits of everyday life.

Expect dodgy decisions, small-town scandals, misguided confidence and a few emotional breakthroughs (maybe). It’s part stand-up, part therapy session, and part fever dream of all the things Tom should have learnt by now.

So grab your mates, your mum, or that friend who never learns from their mistakes, and prepare for a night of laughter, nostalgia and light self-loathing – in the best possible way.

Jarryd Goundrey – The Navy Band Apology Tour

May 9, 2026
- May 9, 2026
6:30 pm
The Howling Owl

After travelling to The UK, New Zealand, the Middle East and Indonesia. Jarryd Goundrey is back as Australia’s Least Decorated Soldier.

Presented by 81 Touring and Veterans First Consulting.

After accidentally roasting The Navy Band at a charity gig in 2023 Jarryd Goundrey is finally going on tour to apologise properly – city by city… or am i?

Fresh off performing across the UK, Indonesia, New Zealand and the Middle East in 2025/26, Jarryd’s nine years of stand-up, couch-surfing and car-sleeping have evolved into a brand-new hour of storytelling, military mayhem and very delayed regret.

With over 100 million online views and regular spots at comedy clubs all over Australia, Jarryd has built a cult following for his sharp, relatable stories from life in and after uniform.

He has shared the stage with Jimeoin, Dave Hughes, Kitty Flanagan, Joel Creasey, Tom Ballard, Dave O’Neil, Damien Power, Mark Normand, Jim Jefferies and more –

BRETT BLAKE – LITTLE TURD

May 16, 2026
- May 16, 2026
7:00 pm
Rhino Room
In 2002 Brett Blake was charged with inciting a riot, disorderly conduct and assaulting a public officer. Is he guilty? You be the judge.
He was 16 years old and facing a maximum prison sentence of 10 years.

What happened next surprised him, his parents, his lawyers, the neighbours and even the judge.
This is a story of the importance of second chances, the hypocritical expectations we have of young people, and how your number one enemy might just end up being your biggest champion.
Only Brett can manage to make a story of police brutality, learning disabilities, questionable 90’s parenting and growing up in a shit suburb “funny”.
In 2025 Brett toured ‘Little Turd’ to sold out crowds across Australia, smashed his Edinburgh Fringe run, and was nominated for best show at The Melbourne Comedy Festival.

This is your last chance to find out what everyone has been raving about! Do not miss out.
Brett has been seen on the 2024 Melbourne Comedy Festival Gala, Question Everything, Spicks and Specks and is the co-host of Work Hates Podcast .
Directed by Tom Ballard.
Nominee – Melbourne Comedy Festival Award 2025
Winner – Weekly Award, Adelaide Fringe 2025
“A perfect melding of laser focused storytelling and a gag rate so high, I’m frankly furious about it. Brett Blake is the best kind of trouble. Take your Mum.” Rhys Nicholson

“Brett’s like an energizer bunny loaded up with relatable funny jokes, he can tear the roof off. I love him.” Mel Buttle

“ Blakey is also one of the sharpest minds in contemporary Australian comedy.” Wil Anderson

“Brett Blake brings the good stuff in spades night after night. Get at him now. You won’t regret it.” Dave Hughes

A Tribute To The Old Rhino Room
Established in 1997, Rhino Room has been at the beating heart of Adelaide’s comedy and live performance scene for almost 3 decades. As the city’s longest-running dedicated venue for stand-up comedy and live music, it has provided a platform for emerging artists to experiment, grow, and thrive.

In 2017, the original Rhino Room on Frome Street was demolished to make way for progress. But for two decades, it stood as a cultural landmark. A place where careers were launched, lifelong friendships formed and countless unforgettable nights unfolded. To honour its legacy, a group of performers and fans came together to create this tribute to the original Rhino. Now located at 131 Pirie Street, Rhino Room continues to champion creativity, diversity and community. We’re proud to keep the spirit of the old Rhino alive while building a new chapter in Adelaide’s comedy history.

Testimonials

Walking through the doors of the Rhino Room always reminds me of what I like about comedy. In the dirty little green room all are equal. Reputations are left at the door. New comics swap punch-lines with people you would normally only see on the TV. But if a comedian is killing on stage, then the backstage empties and every comic is found side stage, watching, laughing, riding the energy of the gig. The outside world doesn’t exist. It’s all about the show.

Wil Anderson

I love the Rhino Room because it’s the best comedy room in Adelaide. As for the bar … I can always remember walking in but I can never remember walking out. Too much fun.

Tom Gleeson
Gold Logie Winner, Hard Chat and Hard Quiz

What I love about the Adelaide Comedy Gigs is that apart from the providing the opportunity to see top-line comedy acts at about half the price you would pay to see them during the Fringe. There’s somewhere I can go to forget my troubles for a few hours and have a good laugh. It’s the best form of therapy I know! And as a regular comedygoer, it’s fascinating to watch the comedians (and even individual jokes) develop over time. Plus there’s the satisfaction of knowing that when some of the current crew make it big (which they will), I’ll be able to say “I saw them before they were famous…”

David Hyland

I love Adelaide Comedy because it is a symbol of fun, laughter, friendship and family. It has given me so many wonderful memories in the past few years, and I know it will always be a part of my laugh, whether I be behind the scenes or in the audience. So much love for AC and everyone who help to make it happen.

Lauren ‘Lolly Dolly’ Thiel

The Rhino Room is not only a great venue to see comedy; it’s also THE place to go for a drink if you want to view the comedians in their natural habitat.

Arj Barker

The perfect comedy oasis for great comics to play and create.

Greg Fleet

Adelaide Comedy is definitely the best comedy club in Adelaide. I brought my aging mother there and she had a blast. It’s usually a challenge to get her out of her Mirador senior living community but this was absolutely worth it.
